GビズID is the Japanese government's single login for businesses. The プライム level is required for the デジタル化・AI導入補助金2026 and most METI subsidies, which use the jGrants system. Official site: gbiz-id.go.jp.
Who needs it
Corporations (法人) and sole proprietors (個人事業主) planning to apply for subsidies or use government online services. The account is issued in the representative's name.
Two ways to apply
1. Online (faster)
- Needs: the representative's My Number Card, a smartphone that receives SMS, the GビズID app and an email address.
- According to official information it can be quick, in some cases the same day.
2. By documents (mail)
- Fill in the form online, print, stamp and mail it with the seal certificate (印鑑証明書) or required certificate.
- Slower: the digitalization subsidy notes issuance takes about 2 weeks.
Tips
- Do it before you have a project: it is free and works for many programs.
- Use an email the company will always control (not one employee's personal address).
- Keep the registered phone safe: it is used for login.
- The デジタル化・AI導入補助金2026 also requires the SECURITY ACTION declaration.
